The Estate Planning Specialist
The role of the Estate Planning Specialist is to provide valuable supplemental expertise in the area of Estate Planning.
Our Specialist works with our clients to ensure they can leave a legacy of wealth for generations to come, at minimum cost to them. Strategies are also implemented to prevent the forced liquidation of cherished assets in Estate wind-up, and, where applicable, prevent spendthrift beneficiaries from wasting their inheritance.
The Estate Planning Lawyer
From a legal perspective, the cornerstones of any solid Estate plan are two Powers of Attorney and a properly drawn will. Our Estate Planning Lawyer provides clients with legal services that may include the provision of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and other legal services where required.
It is their role to ensure that all "Legals for Life" are in place to provide peace of mind for our clients and their families and that they are consistent with all other areas of planning.
The Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is one of Canada's premier business and financial designations. CPAs are recognized throughout the world for their high professional standards, competence, integrity and commitment to serving the public interest. Some people think Chartered Professional Accountants only do audits, accounting and taxes; they do much more than this. They are integral in the management of small and large businesses as well as personal financial issues. Areas of specialization are diverse; one of particular note is the In Depth Tax Program offered through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Chartered Accountants certified as Specialists in Taxation are recognized by the business world as leading providers of Taxation services and by the profession as the resource for consultation on complex and specialized tax matters. This designation is obtained through a rigorous three-year tax program including theory and practical experience in all tax matters. Their body of knowledge includes taxation of individuals, corporations, trusts and estates.
Successful investors recognize the importance of education and knowledge when it comes to managing financial assets. But while they may spend countless hours learning about markets, securities, and associated risks, investors often overlook the qualifications of the professionals whom they hire to manage their money. If you work with investment advisors, they will have access to the most personal details of your finances, so their credentials should matter to you. There are a number of reputable and helpful credentials that financial professionals in different disciplines may hold, but none is as rigorously focused on investment knowledge as the Chartered Financial Analyst TM (CFA®) designation. Understanding the significance of the CFA charter - and what is required of investment professionals in order to hold it - can be useful information when choosing an investment advisor.
The backbone of the CFA Program is a three-level, three-year examination that measures not only a candidate's understanding of a multi-disciplinary, globally relevant Body of Knowledge TM, but also his or her ability to apply this knowledge to the investment decision-making process. A distinguishing characteristic of the program is its uncompromising emphasis on analysis and the application of financial knowledge across core areas of the investment process, particularly in securities valuation and portfolio management. A relevant and evolving curriculum, rigorous examinations, and a stringent Code of Ethics have been hallmarks of the CFA Program throughout its history.
Financial Planners deal with one of the most personal and sensitive aspects of people's lives; their financial security. As a result, trust is at the heart of the relationship - trust in the planner's competence, integrity and objectivity, and trust that the planner will act first and foremost in your best interests.
The CFP® mark identifies individuals who are dedicated to a high level of professionalism in providing financial planning advice. In the absence of uniform government regulation of financial planners, the CFP® credential assures the public that those financial planners who are CFP® licensees have agreed to adhere to high standards of competence and ethical practice as set out by the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC).
